MEET & GREET
Hi! I am Jeni, the person behind Vintage Sails Blog. I'm a retiree - originally from Chicago North Shore - but now living below the freeze line in the sunshine state of Florida. We're blessed to live only a few blocks from the beautiful white sandy beaches.
For 16 years (out of the last 24) I lived and worked in Hong Kong - we actually lived there twice - 8 years each - and had 7 years in Pittsburgh waiting to return to Hong Kong a second time. I am a wife for 34 wonderful years & a mother to two big boys in their early 30’s (who grew up in Hong Kong) - and 2 adorable dogs: Lila, a light Havanese and Wylie, a Chocolate Shitzu puppy.
My style is a little French Country, a little Cottage, a little RL, but truthfully I have an obsession with antiques, anything vintage, and giving new life to old things. I have a passion for blogging & interior design, so I decided to combine my passions & create Vintage Sails Blog to share my love for all things DIY & interior design.
While living in Hong Kong the second time as empty nesters we called a city service flat our home. I was going stare crazy in the locked up but beautiful place and moved to a large apartment in the suburbs by the American Community. In order to pay for all the furniture I needed to fill it - I learned how to shop Antique Chinese Factories a boat ride away. This was a service that was needed for many - so I wrote a website and a blog to start my interior design business. The blog is still active (but I had to close the website down when I moved back.)
HOME REDESIGN HK
The rest of my career can be found here.
Two years ago we designed and built our new custom home - which meant traveling back and forth from HK to Naples several times a year to work on the massive project.
This blog is the place where you should feel like you are capable of making your home as lovely as you dream. I’ll share projects I’m currently working on or have done in the past. I am so happy that you are here & I would love for you to stick around & check out what I am up to now and then. See my Project gallery, Follow me on Pinterest, & see my latest posts. Please don’t be a stranger.
