~ happily ever after ~
Several weeks ago we did a road trip to Northern Florida for a wedding. Not your usual wedding - it's for a pair of lovely people that have come together later in life. Located a short distance from the Villages, they purchased a simply sublime 42 acres farm land that was enchanting - soon to build their dream home - but for now it was the venue for the wedding.
They removed 100 trees and sodded where the celebration was to take place. It certainly was a dream wedding and setting.
Below us was a quarry - you're not usually elevated upward in Florida.
Cocktail tent.
On every seat.
Me and Hubby. The temperature was comfortable during the day but dipped to 48 degrees that night as the wind started to pick up.
A separate tent for cocktails while they set up the main tent for dinner and dancing.
The table seating chart was posted on this old metal mattress spring.
You would never know there had been a rain storm the day before that blew down half the tent. The top was clear plastic so we could see the sky and the stars.
We arrived at 4pm and it's now about 10pm. The band, however, was scheduled to play until 1am.
30 minutes of fireworks off the small wood platform in the quarry - each burst reflecting in the water.
