Building a wall behind the bed to create a closet. 

Building the wall to the ceiling. 

Keep the wall thin but sturdy to the ceiling - for space saver

We don't need storage in the wall but we do need electrical for bedside lighting. 

Just an exaggerated concept 

But note all 3 photos have windows in the closet.

Window is located in closet. 

1 SQUARE = 10"

Wall starts about 53" from wall and ends at 57"

23" deep is the wardrobe

30" is the walkway. 

wall width is 4" 

Only 1 entrance at door way.  

Wall is built to the ceiling

10" at side of window to corner

40" = window

edge of window = 50" @174"

Length of room = 224"

wardrobe width = 23"

walkway = 30"

wall starts at 171"

(or 3" from current molding around window)

or 53" from wall. 

wall ends at 175"

27" behind the door. 
Wardrobe starts at the edge behind the door. 

width of room is 179" so wardrobe stops 39" from window wall 

Ikea Pax collection is  140" long x 93 1/8" tall x 23" deep (without closet doors)

That's 3 units at 40" wide and 1 unit at 20" wide.

Currently it's 27" behind bedroom door. 

We will keep the door and NOT do the expense of a barn door.  It'll take too much room away from the open wall space. 

Windows are black with no framing. 

When this closet build out gets removed ~ the bed faces the fireplace. It will be slightly off centered ~ closer to the window. 

Wall ends at 175"

bed w/ headboard is 85" long ending at 90"

fireplace is 13" deep, now. 

There's 77" (6+ feet) between the fireplace and the foot of the bed. 

Width of room is about 179"

The bed should be about 66" (5.5 feet) from the door wall. 

Either side of the fireplace is about 60" wide. 

Fireplace = 57" wide x 13" deep

You may loose some depth to the fireplace when the walls are finished.  One side is raw brick and needs to be insulated because it's an outside wall.   What will happen to the other side ~ which is a finished plaster wall?

AND IF WE'RE LUCKY ~ THE DOG COMES TOO!

My thoughts!  The mantle is worth $$$$.  

They start at $3000.  Keep the value in the house and display it in the Master since you have room.
